Time to Think

Reduce your anxiety & get the real you back

How are you feeling right now during Covid-19?

Thanks Chris...two [consecutive] eight hour nights sleep...wow!’
TB, Bristol

With the outbreak of Coronavirus many people will be feeling extremely anxious. The stress of self-isolating or being unable to help friends or family that may be far away is going to be challenging for all of us. Keeping calm and staying mentally healthy is more important than ever during this pandemic.

It is important to realise that when we are feeling anxious, we activate the primitive emotional part of the brain - this is an intensely alert state where stress hormones flood the body and we enter ‘survival’ mode. Staying in this mode for too long is very stressful for the body and can result in panic attacks and chronic anxiety or depression.

If life is getting you down and you’re feeling stuck, then you’ll probably see yourself in some of these questions.

  • Are you anxious about work or other aspects of your life?

  • Do you wake up feeling tired and miserable? Would you rather stay in bed and pull the duvet over your head than go out and meet people?

  • Is broken sleep affecting your ability to function?

  • How do you feel when you see a spider, walk across a bridge or get into a lift?

  • Have you ever left the house, gone back to re-check the windows or gas, then driven away doubting that you really had turned everything off?

  • Perhaps you drink too much or want to give up smoking.

  • Or do people say that you are moody and angry all the time?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of them, then it’s likely that anxiety is an issue for you. And you are not alone:

"One in four people has a mental disorder at some point in their life." (MIND)

In our busy lives the development of anxiety can be a gradual process and we don’t realise that the pressure is getting on top of us, until the strain starts to tell.

The good news is that I can help. I'm Chris Morris a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist based in Bristol.

What is Solution Focused Therapy?

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) looks at what you want to achieve, rather than on your problems. It focuses on the present and future and not on the past.

The therapy can be highly effective in relieving the symptoms of anxiety and stress. It is particularly effective at dealing with anger, depression, IBS, sleep issues, OCD, panic attacks, phobias, weight loss, stopping smoking, pain management, negative thought patterns, public speaking, and many kinds of addiction including gaming and social media.

Work with me and we’ll:

●         acknowledge where you are now

●         determine where you want to be

●         help you to make the necessary changes.

It’s a simple and relaxing process, and it can be the key that unlocks positive and lasting change in your life. You’ll learn how your brain works, and be able to understand why anxiety has been holding you back, or why habits and behaviours have been so hard to shift in the past. Solutions Focused Therapy puts you back in control.

It can be hard to ask for help, however be assured that Solutions Focused Hypnotherapy is a very straightforward and gentle form of therapy. Because we focus on the future rather than dwelling on issues from your past, it is a positive experience which will work to make you feel happier quickly.

"Hypnotherapy had a huge impact on my son, he went from a very anxious teenager not able to attend school

due to his anxiety.

Within just a few sessions he was back at school and attended every one

of his GCSE’s.

Chris is amazing and I would recommend anyone struggling to seek his advice!'"

Panic Attacks

‘Good news!!

Back from the cruise and all went well with no anxiety or panic moments at all.

All the excursions went well [and] didn't get to the panic stage as previously.

All the travelling where I would normally expect some sort of anxiety went smoothly.

We had a lovely holiday and some of that must be accredited to you.’

I can’t thank Chris enough

for what he’s done for me.

I suffered with social anxiety

and depression

saw him 5 times and

I am a stronger person now.

I’ve recently had something else happen to me.

Because of what he showed me and taught me to do.

I couldn’t be stronger

through the situation!

This works! Highly recommend!

Insomnia was sucking

all the joy out of life for me.

Without sleep, everything is just too hard. The initial consultation with Chris helped enormously, and after just two more sessions I was sleeping properly every night.”
